(Wikipedia)
Happiness: Is a mental or emotional state of well being characterized by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Philosophers and religious thinkers often define happiness in terms of living a good life, or flourishing, rather than simply as an emotion. (Wikipedia)
My Definition: I want to focus on the word flourishing because I believe that it is such a rich word. Allowing yourself to flourish is to live fully, to the optimum level which means allowing yourself to be open to each experience and be fully in the here and now. By doing this, we allow ourselves to experience more and live fully.

Pratityasamutpada or Interdependent Co-Arising
14. *Interdependent Co-Arising: Pratītyasamutpāda
Dictionary Definition: Interdependent Co-Arising is that everything arises in dependence upon multiple causes and conditions; nothing exists as a singular, independent entity. (Wikipedia)
My Definition: It is a complete web and interconnectedness of events that lead to a phenomenal experience. Every single decision or delay in many people’s experiences affect how one’s experience happens, or if it even happens at all.
Journal Entry February 17th: An example of this for me is deciding to take this Buddhism class. In my own life, it took my experiences with other religions, books that I have read that gave me ideas, rejection of other belief systems, the different interconnected phenomenal experiences that I have had throughout my life that have led to my interest in learning more about Buddhism, encounters with Buddhists I have had, my parents’ beliefs, and so many more experiences that led me to sign up for this class. It was a series of caused experiences connected and dependent on each other to cause the new phenomenal experience I am having here and now.

Intimacy
15.* Intimacy
Dictionary Definition: Belonging to or characterizing one's deepest nature 2: Marked by very close association, contact, or familiarity 3: Marked by a warm friendship developing through long association; suggesting informal warmth or privacy 4: Of a very personal or private nature. (Merriam-Webster)
My Definition: Allowing each experience to consume us. Be completely in each moment of experience and absorb everything that moment has to offer you in wisdom and experience. Allow yourself to be intimate and vulnerable to each new experience because you will gain so much from it.
Journal Entry: Intimacy is something that I have an extremely hard time with. Because of situations that have happened in the past, I have a very hard time opening myself up to new experiences and new relationships. This has come to be very bad for my relationships because many of them have ended due to my inability to be vulnerable. I want to change this the most, because as I look back, it is necessary for me to be more vulnerable in order for any relationships I have to grow.
