Wholesome/ Unwholesome
33. *Wholesome/Unwholesome
Dictionary Definition: Promoting health or well-being of mind or spirit and vice versa. (Merriam-Webster)
My Definition: When looking at every moment of experience that we have, we have the option of making the wholesome decision or the unwholesome decision. We drop looking at things through the sense of right/wrong, good/bad and instead start looking at them through the terms of skill and wholesome.
Journal Entry January 24th: For me, I need wisdom and to be mindful to be able to make wholesome decisions for myself that will not cause dukkha. It is unwholesome for one to take unsatisfactory things that come into one’s mind and grasp them, when one should recognize it as unsatisfactory and let it go instead. One cannot control the hand that they are dealt, but one can control their attitude and perspective towards what happens and make the wholesome perspective instead.
